   1. ABOUT MAILBELL

   This is the Version 2.x of MailBell.  

   
   MailBell is a utility that assists you with your email.  
   It periodically checks one or multiple email accounts (POP3, 
   IMAP4, MAPI, Hotmail.com, MSN.com) and notifies you when new mail 
   arrives (by playing a sound, showing a notification window).  
   You can preview and even delete mail without actually downloading 
   it into your mailprogram. 

   Additionally MailBell offers functions to preview mail and
   to manually or automatically delete mail based on a list of 
   kill-words or senders.  This allows blocking of unwanted mail
   and deletion of mail with large attachments without actually 
   downloading these mail into the mail program.
    
   It supports Email via POP3, IMAP, MAPI (e.g. MS Exchange, Lotus
   Notes), Hotmail.com, MSN.com but not AOL.com.

   MailBell automatically switches between English and German 
   language, depending on your system's settings (under Windows 95
   this is the same language as Windows, under Windows NT it is the
   Regional setting in the Control Panel).

   The program can be tested for 30 days.  During that time you have
   to press an OK button every hour.  After that time it must be either
   purchased or deleted.  Order and purchase informations can be found
   in the help menu and in the separate order application.

   2. DISTRIBUTION, COPYRIGHT

   MailBell is (C) 2001 by EmTec, Markus Schmidt 

   This is a license summary -- see the license information in the 
   setup program for details.

   You may use and test the program for 30 days in evaluation mode. 
   Then you have to order a license code or remove it from your system.

   No warranty of any kind can be given for damage caused through MailBell
   directly or indirectly or any other way. 

   The evaluation version of MailBell may be distributed freely via tele-
   communication, shareware dealers or as a free add on for hard- or 
   software products in form of an unmodified ZIP archive, or as 
   unzipped files in an single directory with the name beginning with
   "MailBell" and with no file added, removed or modified.

   The following restrictions apply to distribution.

    * MailBell must not be used in an army environment or for purposes 
      that are related to the military or to arms production.

    * MailBell may be included into shareware CDs if the ZIP file is
      left intact or if all files from the ZIP file are provided
      in a single directory the name of which begins with MailBell. 
      Two copies of the CD must be sent to EmTec, Markus Schmidt
      (address below).

   3. INSTALLATION
  ------------------------------------------------------------------------

   To install MailBell just type SETUP at a command prompt. The windowed
   install program will handle the rest.

   If you encounter problems of any kind, please try to install MailBell 
   into a fresh directory.

   Note: MailBell should not be installed over an existing beta version 
   of MailBell.

   You can show the help file directly by typing WINHELP SPAMDETECTIVE.HLP
